You don't need a Microsoft Teams account to join a meeting — the organizer just needs to add your email as a participant, and you can join as a guest. (Some meetings don't allow guests.)
Desktop
- In the meeting invite, select Join Microsoft Teams Meeting.
- On the page that opens, choose Download the Windows app or Join on the web instead (Edge or Chrome). Allow mic/camera access when prompted.
- Enter your name and choose your audio/video settings, then select Join now.
- You'll enter the meeting lobby; the organizer is notified and can admit you.
If no one admits you within 15 minutes, you'll be removed from the lobby — you can try joining again. Some meeting features aren't available to guests.
If you're the organizer: you'll be alerted when someone is waiting. Select Admit to let them straight in, or View lobby to see everyone waiting and admit or deny individually.
Mobile
- In the meeting invite, select Join Microsoft Teams Meeting.
- If you don't have the Teams app, you'll be taken to your app store to install it.
- Open the app — on Android, open it directly from the store page; on iOS, tap the meeting link again. Allow mic access when prompted.
- Choose Join as a guest.
- Type your name and tap Join meeting.
- Depending on how the meeting was set up, you may join immediately, or be asked to sign in with a specific account (for example, a school or conference-authorized account).
Once in the meeting, tap the center of the screen to show or hide meeting controls, including your video and mic toggles.
